The Route 70 Cruisers, a local car club based in Old Fort NC, recently provided MTCC with $1,000 to be used for scholarships to needy students in Automotive Systems Technology. Pictured, left to right, are Dr. Penny Cross, Vice-President for Learning and Student Services; Donnie McCraw, Automotive Systems Instructor; Phillip Poe, Route 70 Cruisers; Kim Ledbetter, Director of Financial Aid; and Lawrence Reel, Route 70 Cruisers.
The Route 70 Cruisers Scholarships will be available to students in Automotive Systems Technology who have financial need and a strong desire to pursue a career in the automotive industry. McDowell County residents are preferred.
"We really appreciate the commitment Route 70 Cruisers has made to students in our Automotive Systems Program over the last several years," said Dr. Penny Cross. "Their gifts have allowed many of these students to continue their studies when they couldn't otherwise afford to do so."
