Course Topics Covered: Preparation for an entry-level position in healthcare billing and coding inclucing professional communication and team-building skills related to the roles nad responsibilities of the position; Manage Care, Lifecycle of an Insurance claim, legal and regulatory considerations, ICD, CPT and HCPCS coding regulations; reimbursement issues; claims instructions; medical terminology; filing commercial insurance claims for Medicare, Medicaid, Tricare and Worker's Compensation.
Upon completion of this course, individuals may be eligible to sit for one of the National Certification Exams offered through the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) or by the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC).
