The Student Enrichment Center provides a variety of testing, counseling and student support services. These include: Placement Testing and Career Assessments to explore student interests and aptitudes, Career Counseling Services, Tutorial Assistance Services and Support Services for Students with Disabilities (including students with learning disabilities).
All Student Enrichment Center services are free to the MTCC student. Walk-ins are accepted, however, appointments are encouraged to guarantee the student these services in a timely manner.
In order to guarantee high program standards and student success, it is important that the academic abilities of students be equal to program entrance requirements. The "open door" policy allows all students the opportunity to further their education; however, program entrance requirements must be met.

Do I need to take the placement test?
The placement test or sections of the placement test may be waived if you:
** Exemptions for testing are not made for applicants seeking admission to the Associate Degree Nursing or the Practical Nursing Programs.
Can I fail the test?
You cannot fail the placement test and it is not an indicator of your intelligence. It is only used to see what you have forgotten or never learned. The test will help us determine if you need to take developmental courses that will help you prepare for college level work.
When can I take the placement test?
The placement test is usually given by appointment. Walk-ins may be accepted if space is available or if time permits, however appointments are highly encouraged. Evening testing is available on Mondays and Tuesdays.
What can I do to prepare for the placement test?
Sample questions and study guides are available online by visiting www.act.org/compass, click on For Students and then click on Sample Questions; or www.bainbridge.edu. At this site you can practice reading, writing, and math as required for your program of study. Click here for Accuplacer sample Math questions. If you do not have access to the internet, visit the Student Enrichment Center and pick up printed study guides.
